Our new Dental training suite opened in March 2014 and boasts state of the art facilities featuring simulation technologies (14 phantom heads) along with two on site technicians. The suite provides hands on training opportunities for dental foundation trainees during their postgraduate training programme. In addition we offer professional development for all dental teams (qualified dentists, dental nurses and hygienists)
The Buckinghamshire Dental Foundation Training Scheme is based at the MKUH Education Centre and follows the national curriculum for Dental Foundation Training developed by COPDEND. Most of the 30 study days are held here and include a variety of clinical hands-on sessions and interactive small group learning. The centre is fortunate to have a well-equipped skills room with fourteen phantom heads and on site technicians ensuring that the FD’s gain valuable practical experience in using modern equipment and materials. Foundation training practices are based across Buckinghamshire and spread from High Wycombe in the south to Milton Keynes in the north.

BDA MK Section
The Milton Keynes BDA Section welcomes all dentists and dental team members in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas to attend our high quality meeting programme. Meetings are also open to non BDA Members.
The meetings are generally held on Thursday evenings at the Education Centre and includes a hot buffet and refreshments, followed by a presentation from a guest speaker which is accredited for 2 hours of CPD. A sponsor is usually present to subsidise the evening. The programme content involves seven meetings for the season and subjects range from core CPD subjects, general dentistry, medico-legal updates, interdisciplinary care etc.
The aim is to attract interesting and up-to-date speakers on current relevant subjects. One of the other benefits of attending our meetings is the excellent opportunity to network with friendly colleagues and exchange ideas. We have a Facebook presence where we encourage you to share ideas, guidelines, reviews, articles, opinions and anything else that you feel may benefit your colleagues and yourself and we will also utilise social media to keep you in touch with upcoming events and meetings.
