Your Recruitment Journey with Us

Step one - finding the right job for you

Search our latest vacancies on the MKUH Jobs website

Take the time to read about how to submit an application on NHS Jobs

In your application  convey what sets you apart from other candidates

Think about what skills and personal attributes you would bring to the role

Take your time and ensure that you complete the application form in full

Make sure that your application is specific to the post you are applying for

Submit your application before the closing date

Step two - Shortlisting

Once a post has closed we will endeavour to shortlist within seven days
If you have been shortlisted we will invite you for interview via email
If you have not been shortlisted we will  inform you via email

Step three - Interview

The interview panel will usually be made up of at least two members from the team you will be working in, and you may be asked to complete an exercise or presentation.

Interviews usually last about 45 mins.

This provides an opportunity for us to get to know each other, to understand your skills and to discuss your experience and for you to ask us questions about the role.

Occasionally, we may ask you to attend a second or third interview.

Values, belief and behaviours are important to use so your interview is likely to contain some values based questions.

Step four – your pre-employment checks

If you are successful we will make a conditional offer subject to the following checks:

DBS Check
Occupational Health Check
Reference History
Qualification check
Right to live and work verification

We ask you to return all required paperwork to us within seven days

We will then process all required checks which usually takes around 4-6 weeks.

If the above checks are satisfactory we will issue your formal offer letter within two days of receiving all paperwork

Step five - Becoming a member of our team – Congratulations!

Once you have received your final offer from us, we will liaise with your new department to arrange a start date and you will be booked onto our Trust induction so you gain a full understanding of how things work at the Trust.
